Overview
In this role you will oversee the timely, compliant close of the consolidated and departmental P&L and Balance Sheet, ensuring clear audit trails and robust internal controls. You will support group consolidation, statutory reporting, and the annual audit process, while providing ad-hoc finance support and maintaining market awareness. The position offers a hands-on opportunity to shape financial governance within a growing UK-based group.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and compliant monthly close of consolidated and departmental P&L and Balance Sheet
- Maintain clear audit trail between general ledger and consolidation system
- Prepare and input monthly journals (prepayments, accruals, deferred income, etc.)
- Assist with Group Consolidation and intercompany balance reporting
- Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations with accuracy
- Enforce financial governance and robust internal controls, monitor exceptions, and develop processes
- Prepare annual Financial Statements and supporting working papers for UK entities under local standards
- Support annual audits, including delivering information to auditors and helping ensure timely completion
- Maintain timely reporting to support all departments as required
- Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Director and Controller and support external deadlines
- Maintain broad market knowledge and commercial awareness
Key requirements
- Experience in financial reporting and close processes
- Exposure to group consolidation and intercompany balancing
- Ability to prepare journals and working papers for statutory reporting
- Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls
- Ability to support external audits and statutory reporting for UK entities
