Overview

In this role you own the Tools & Consumables category, shaping a customer-led, profit-driven strategy. You’ll drive margin, rebates, pricing and supplier performance, collaborating across Commercial, Sales and Supply Chain to deliver growth. You’ll manage pricing, promotions and range optimization while strengthening supplier partnerships and direct sourcing opportunities. The position offers exposure to end-to-end category management in a fast-moving, data-driven environment with impact on gross margin and market share. This is a hybrid, hands-on leadership role within Rexel’s product management function.

Responsibilities

  • Develop short- and long-term category plans with measurable trading actions
  • Own Commercial Gross Margin and profitability including rebates and supplier funding
  • Shape and execute pricing strategy with the Pricing Analyst to optimize margin and profitability
  • Lead competitive benchmarking and design promotional plans to grow volume and protect margin
  • Drive sales and market share growth using data to refine range, price, promos and supplier mix
  • Drive own-brand growth and direct sourcing proposals by customer/quartile to strengthen margins
  • Collaborate with demand planning / supply chain to ensure execution with high availability (+95%)
  • Build supplier partnerships and negotiate favorable agreements including contract paperwork managed to deadline
  • Monitor category performance via KPIs and implement corrective actions
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders across Commercial, Sales, Finance and Supply Chain

Key requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in a commercial Category Manager role with end-to-end category management and P&L ownership
  • Strong understanding of margin, rebates, pricing, promotions, range optimization and supplier negotiation
  • Highly analytical with ability to make data-driven trading decisions quickly
  • Confident stakeholder management across Commercial, Sales, Finance and Supply Chain in a fast-moving environment
