Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager in Severn Trent’s Capital Delivery team, you will support the delivery of engineering, operational, construction or capital projects. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams to help manage plans, risks, budgets and reporting, building strong relationships with internal teams, contractors and suppliers. This role offers development within a leading UK utility while contributing to essential water and wastewater services for millions. You’ll operate in a collaborative, inclusive culture that values care and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of engineering, operational, construction or capital projects
  • Manage project plans, risks, budgets and project reporting
  • Build effective relationships with internal teams, contractors and suppliers
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of project controls
  • Maintain strong organisational skills to handle multiple priorities
  • Influence and collaborate with a range of stakeholders
  • Possess a full UK driving licence

Key requirements

  • Experience supporting the delivery of engineering, operational, construction or capital projects
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience managing project plans, risks, budgets and project reporting
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, contractors and suppliers
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project controls
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with a range of stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Desirable: experience in water/wastewater/utilities/infrastructure sectors
  • Desirable: knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks
  • Desirable: experience with external contractors and supply chain partners
  • Desirable: understanding of health and safety requirements, including CDM regulations
  • Desirable: APM qualification (or working towards)
  • Desirable: degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction, Environmental or Project Management related discipline
