Group Financial Accountant

Overview

In this role you will support global financial reporting as part of PA’s Group Accounting Team. You will manage monthly group consolidation, prepare and review consolidation journals, and ensure accurate reporting within a tight month-end timetable. You’ll develop IFRS technical accounting knowledge to support the finance function and contribute to the group annual report notes. You will interact with auditors, support audit testing, and become a lead user of our finance systems to drive efficiencies. This is a globally-oriented role with exposure to UK and overseas entities and collaboration across finance and external advisors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and consolidate monthly group financials and raise consolidation journals
• Review consolidated numbers to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Lead the month-end close process and maintain the close timetable
• Provide IFRS technical accounting support across the finance function
• Prepare notes and support for the group annual report
• Coordinate and provide information to auditors and respond to audit inquiries
• Learn and become proficient with Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close, PeopleSoft Financials, IRIS Accounts Production and MI systems
• Own month-end journals and oversee financial statements for UK and overseas companies; liaise with overseas advisors for statutory statements

Key requirements

• ACA / CA / ACCA qualification
• Strong current IFRS knowledge and research skills
• Understanding of multinational consolidation
• Ability to quickly learn finance systems
• Commitment to excellent financial control
• Audit experience or role as key audit contact
• Proactive, well-organised, and able to prioritise under strict deadlines
• Strong communication skills; collaborative and adaptable
• Sole British national
• Willingness to meet UK security clearance requirements
