Overview

In this role you will deliver practical health, safety and environmental support to member companies across sites mainly in the North East. You will help promote safe systems of work, assist with compliance and drive a positive safety culture through site visits, inspections and training. You will work closely with site teams, contractors and senior stakeholders to reduce risk and improve health and safety performance. Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled HSE inspections across member-site locations
  • Provide practical advice to members, contractors and employees
  • Promote safe systems of work and industry best practice
  • Support compliance with HSE legislation
  • Investigate accidents/incidents and produce detailed reports
  • Assist with risk and COSHH assessments
  • Review HSE documentation and provide feedback
  • Build relationships with member companies through site visits and support
  • Prepare and deliver health and safety training
  • Support and mentor Trainee SHE Advisors
  • Maintain professional standards and contribute to service development
  • Attend training for personal/technical development

Key requirements

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent
  • Tech IOSH membership or equivalent
  • Practical construction background
  • Experience on/visiting active construction sites
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices
  • Experience with site inspections, audits and incident investigations
  • Ability to produce/review risk and COSHH assessments
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Level 6 health and safety qualification (desirable)
