Overview

As General Manager on site at The University of West London, you will lead the delivery of hard and soft FM services to meet contract objectives and client expectations. You will oversee budgets, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement while developing staff and managing supplier relationships. You’ll liaise closely with the client to align on current and future needs, drive cost efficiencies, and ensure excellent customer care. This role offers a strategic, hands-on opportunity to shape service delivery, growth, and operational excellence in a large, contract-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality hard and soft FM services in line with the contract
  • Manage contractual performance against budgets, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain close liaison with the client to meet day-to-day and future requirements
  • Oversee financial controls, cost management, and profitability of operations
  • Coordinate procurement and supplier relationships for best value
  • Support business development activities for the contract and local area
  • Promote customer care standards and monitor service quality
  • Recruit, develop, and appraise staff, supporting succession planning
  • Mobilise/stabilise all FM services on the contract and ensure safe site operations

Key requirements

  • Extensive operational management experience
  • Experience with soft FM; security experience desirable
  • Strong customer focus and relationship management
  • Proven people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Financially aware with strong planning and time management
  • Demonstrable supplier contracts negotiation experience
  • DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists check required (essential)
