Overview
As M&E Maintenance Supervisor you will lead and coordinate mechanical/electrical trade staff and contractors to deliver reliable facilities maintenance at Southmead Hospital. You will work closely with the Operations Manager to allocate work, monitor performance, and ensure client satisfaction. The role uses Maximo CAFM for work orders, procurement, and records, and includes a rotation for emergency call-outs. You’ll develop staff capabilities and may qualify as an Authorised/Competent Person. This is a hands-on leadership position in a critical hospital environment.

Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical/electrical and building trade staff and contractors
- Allocate and complete work in line with performance monitoring and client satisfaction
- Utilise Maximo CAFM for work orders and documentation
- Order materials and services within delegation and certify delivery/completion
- Monitor staff performance, time-keeping and sickness per policy
- Provide estimates and cost control information for quoted works and maintain records
- Undertake training to qualify as Authorised Person and/or Competent Person if required
- Work with tools as needed, including emergencies and supporting staff
- Participate in a call-out rota for emergency response
Key requirements
- Recognised electrical or mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline
- Significant building services experience, ideally in a hospital environment
- Supervisory or management experience
- Client-focused with delivery-oriented, can-do approach
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic DBS clearance
- Ability to work 40 hours/week 7:00–15:30, Monday–Friday, with call-out duties
