Overview
In this Risk Manager role, you will act as a core member of the Project Controls Team on major infrastructure projects across energy, renewables, defence, rail and utilities. You will drive the identification, assessment, and prioritisation of risks and opportunities, shaping responses and monitoring remaining risk budget. You’ll produce risk reports for senior leadership and apply quantitative techniques to inform contingency and time risk allowances. This position offers the chance to influence project outcomes within a global advisory firm.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate risk identification, assessment and prioritisation
- Track risk triggers to support cost profiling and budget management
- Develop and assess management responses with measurable outcomes
- Monitor total risk exposure against budget and schedule
- Produce timely risk reports for senior management
- Apply quantitative risk analysis to inform contingencies
- Demonstrate competency with risk tools (Safran, @risk, PRA)
- Work with web-based reporting tools (ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau, PowerBI)
Key requirements
- Experience delivering risk within major projects or blue-chip clients
- Energy, renewables, defence, rail or utilities project exposure is advantageous
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to develop risk management capabilities
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative risk assessment and probabilistic modelling
