Overview
In this Building Surveyor role, you will deliver surveying services aligned with the RICS code and company guidelines, with autonomy and team collaboration. You’ll support a diverse client base across residential and commercial properties, handling contract administration, CapEx planning, and party wall matters. The position offers interaction with stakeholders and a path to growth within a prestigious practice. You will contribute to safe, compliant, and cost-aware project delivery while working from Holborn with agile options.
Responsibilities
- Contract Administration: conduct initial Condition Surveys, prepare specifications, read lease documents, oversee projects to time/budget under JCT contracts
- CapEx Plans / Finance: prepare budget costings and CapEx, produce fee and cost analyses, negotiate final accounts
- Licences to Alter: assess plans, liaise on Alterations, issue licences, monitor alteration works
- Defects Diagnosis: investigate defects, prepare client reports, recommend repairs and maintenance
- Party Wall Matters: advise on party wall issues, prepare notices and awards, manage related legislation
- Health and Safety: perform basic risk assessments, review safety reports, coordinate with HSE consultants
- General: handle informal complaints, attend meetings, liaise with accounts on invoices
Key requirements
- BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying
- MCIOB / AssocRICS / MRICS (preferred professional memberships)
