Overview
In this role you will assess borrower risk and support underwriting decisions within AIG’s Political Risk Group. You’ll contribute to maintaining a high-quality credit portfolio and engage with cross-functional teams to inform risk-taking decisions. The position blends hands-on credit analysis with portfolio oversight in a busy London team, offering exposure to structured corporate credit and project finance. You will work on impactful risk management for a broad range of clients and transactions.

Responsibilities
- Perform annual and regular credit reviews and rating recommendations for Structured Corporate Credit and Project Finance obligors in the PRG UK portfolio
- Provide credit analysis across transactions and contribute to deal memos on Credit Risk
- Set appetite limits and capacity for obligor groups to support transactions and approvals
- Execute approvals within delegated authority or present review results to decision-makers
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for credit appetite and conduct obligor visits/calls as needed
- Participate in market presentations for Investors/Analysts and internal transactions reviews
- Ensure internal credit ratings and aging align with Credit Lines and AIG policy
- Maintain up-to-date max exposure limits and document approvals in credit management systems
- Collaborate with Heads of Credit Lines and PRG Underwriters to gather information and ensure consistent risk assessment
- Coordinate with Trade Credit Officers to manage overlaps in exposure
- Support Portfolio Management with documentation and response to exposure inquiries
- Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve Credit Lines business objectives
Key requirements
- 10+ years of credit risk and transaction analysis experience in a leading bank, trade credit, or similar organization
- Experience with various market-leading credit risk analysis techniques and tools
- Understanding of Credit Lines products and their risk drivers and mitigants
- Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to present to stakeholders
- Excellent organizational, project management, and time-management abilities
- Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize for the credit officer team
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders/clients
- Multilingual abilities are helpful for engaging with global teams
- Willingness to travel regionally is desirable
