Principal Electrical Engineer

Overview

In this Principal Electrical Engineer role, you lead the electrical discipline on MEP projects within AECOM Buildings & Places, ensuring detailed design excellence and strong client service. You work in a collaborative team to deliver high-quality building services while mentoring engineers and coordinating resources and finances. You will apply digital and parametric design tools to drive efficient, innovative solutions. Responsibilities

• Lead your own discipline on MEP projects and manage engineers from a complementary discipline
• Deliver detailed designs and supervise colleagues in this function
• Maintain high standards of client service and build strong client relationships
• Mentor and develop junior engineers
• Manage project timelines, and if acting as project manager, coordinate tasks and manage project finances
• Apply initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects
• Demonstrate attention to detail and pride in outputs
• Utilize digital and parametric design tools, including coding and IESVE

Key requirements

• Relevant design and delivery experience in a consulting environment
• Experience on conceptual designs through to client delivery
• Strong written and spoken English communication, with ability to influence and negotiate
• Proactive, able to take decisions and act autonomously
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills
• Qualified engineer with track record in discipline
• Accredited honours degree or HNC with commitment to further education and toward IEng or CEng status
