Overview

As Senior Director, you lead high-impact pricing and underwriting engagements for commercial insurers, shaping pricing strategies, models, and transformation programs. You collaborate across practices to deliver innovative solutions, leverage data-enrichment ideas, and build pricing capabilities that scale. You act as a trusted advisor, develop market propositions, and mentor junior staff to drive revenue and client value. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams delivering client engagements on pricing and underwriting
  • Optimize specialty and commercial lines pricing strategies and approaches
  • Deliver capability reviews and pricing transformation engagements
  • Develop pricing models, tools, and processes; design MI and portfolio management capabilities
  • Leverage market knowledge to create cutting-edge solutions in collaboration with cross-regional teams
  • Develop and promote new propositions leveraging WTW’s toolset and IP
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with client contacts and ensure quality execution
  • Mentor and train junior staff; drive thought leadership and IP development
  • Meet billable hours targets and develop intellectual capital; present value proposals to clients
  • Interface with colleagues from other practices to address broader business issues
  • Travel as needed to support client engagements
  • Contribute to the company’s public reputation through articles and presentations

Key requirements

  • Commercial Lines pricing or portfolio management experience in London Market insurance firms or consultancies
  • Experience with exposure modelling, stochastic modelling, first loss curves, and increased limit factors
  • Advocate for analytical approaches and data enrichment in pricing/underwriting
  • Exposure to machine learning or big data techniques beneficial
  • Solid data manipulation skills (SAS, SQL, WPS)
  • Experience with Emblem and Radar software preferred
  • Track record in delivering revenue-enhancing innovations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work in ambiguity
  • Ability to see big picture and coordinate across related practices
