The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Senior Support Worker to join a 2-bed children’s residential home in Salisbury, supporting young people aged 8–17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated residential childcare professional who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment, supporting young people to develop their confidence, independence and life skills.
The Role
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the children’s home.
- Providing high-quality, child-centred care to young people with EBD.
- Acting as a positive role model and building strong, trusting relationships.
- Supporting young people with emotional regulation, challenging behaviour and everyday activities.
- Helping to implement care plans, risk assessments and individual support plans.
- Supporting and guiding junior members of the staff team.
- Promoting safeguarding and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all young people.
- Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant paperwork.
- Working closely with colleagues and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
About You
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce.
- Previous experience working within a children’s residential setting.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD or complex needs.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to remain calm and positive when dealing with challenging situations.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them achieve their potential.
