Overview

As Lead Security Architect in the Security Architecture, Technology Directorate, you shape and govern secure-by-design solutions across multi-team programs. You will translate strategy into target designs, balancing security with resilience and productivity. You lead high-impact initiatives, guiding engineers and SMEs while communicating complex security choices to senior stakeholders. This role sits at the core of the Bank’s mission to safeguard information assets and maintain financial stability, offering meaningful impact across technology domains. You will partner with assurance and delivery teams to land effective controls and reduce attack surface.

Responsibilities

  • Define and evolve security patterns, principles, standards, and roadmaps to guide projects and platforms
  • Embed threat-led thinking and controls across discovery, design, build, and delivery
  • Act as senior architectural voice for high-impact initiatives, aligning security with business outcomes and risk
  • Drive architecture governance, design reviews, and signoffs to ensure enterprise integration and framework compliance
  • Collaborate across Technology and business domains to translate strategy into target designs
  • Partner with Assurance to implement the right controls at appropriate stages and surface risk
  • Communicate complex security choices clearly in meetings, option papers, and roadmaps to influence senior decisions
  • Lead multi-team programs with breadth and depth in IT/security architecture and a record of secure designs
  • Provide stakeholder leadership and maintain strong documentation and communication across teams

Key requirements

  • Champion a modern security posture focused on threat-informed risk reduction
  • Proven ability to define security architecture strategy and governance across patterns, standards, and roadmaps
  • Secure-by-design delivery experience with collaboration across solution architects and delivery teams
  • Senior architectural voice for high-impact initiatives, aligning security with risk profiles
  • Architecture governance and cross-technology influence to translate strategy into designs
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to communicate risk and options to senior leaders
  • Experience in reviewing technical documentation and identifying design issues
