Associate Director / Technical Director Electrical Healthcare Engineer (Building Services)

Overview

In this role you lead electrical design within the MEP team on healthcare projects, guiding senior engineers and coordinating with clients to meet delivery targets. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape feasibility studies and production of detailed specifications, ensuring quality and alignment with project KPIs. You act as a client single point of contact, driving delivery while mentoring juniors and managing resources. Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design within MEP on a range of projects and provide technical guidance as a project manager
• Supervise detailed designs and the work of team members
• Assess project feasibility and lead feasibility studies for the discipline
• Direct production of detailed and performance specifications
• Act as the client’s main point of contact and ensure delivery against client deliverables and internal KPIs
• Coordinate with client directions to meet full project delivery needs
• Assist with business development and client relationship development to secure new commissions
• Develop and manage junior staff; brief project teams; ensure contracts/letters of intent are in place before work starts
• Maintain awareness of team workload and resources; manage resourcing and lead regular team meetings on HR, safety, quality, and development

Key requirements

• BEng/Bsc/MEng in applicable engineering discipline
• CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council Chartership
• RevitMEP training applied to the discipline
• Electrical design skills: LV distribution, cable calculations, lighting, energy lighting, small power, fire/alarm, intruder, access control, disabled call systems, data cabling, lightning protection
