Overview

In this role you will deliver defined civils work packages on the ASTI Netherton Hub project in Aberdeen, ensuring safety, quality and progress. You will work closely with the Site Agent and project team to solve technical queries and maintain programme rhythm. The position supports the UK’s renewable energy infrastructure expansion and offers long-term career progression within a national framework. You will help shape safe, efficient site operations through planning, setting-out and documentation. This is a hands-on role in a major energy-led construction programme.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver defined sections of civils work to safety, programme, and quality standards
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute earthworks, drainage, reinforced concrete structures, ducting, and access infrastructure
  • Set out works and maintain accurate survey data and engineering control
  • Manage QA documentation, inspection and test plans, and as-built records
  • Prepare and implement method statements, risk assessments, and temporary works
  • Coordinate subcontractors and direct labour for safe, efficient site operations
  • Collaborate with Site Agent, Sub Agent, and project team to resolve technical queries and maintain progress
  • Monitor progress against programme and support risk identification and mitigation
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards
  • Foster a positive, collaborative site culture aligned with BB values

Key requirements

  • Experience delivering defined sections of civil/infrastructure work on energy, highways, or civils projects in Scotland
  • Strong technical knowledge of earthworks, drainage, reinforced concrete, and temporary works
  • Proven setting-out experience and QA documentation competency
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and site teams to deliver to programme and specification
  • Solid understanding of health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements on large sites
  • Ability to work with Site Agents, Engineers, and Project Management teams in a collaborative environment
  • Proactive, organised, able to manage multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with Scottish standards and site conditions is desirable
  • Relevant civil engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
