Overview

As Plant Manager you lead the site to maximize capital and human resources while achieving production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives. You manage people, materials, and assets to meet the production plan and customer requirements, while aligning with safety and environmental policies. You drive cross-functional coordination and continuous improvement to support Sherwin-Williams’ purpose of inspiring and protecting what matters. Responsibilities

  • Oversee site operations to meet production plan and customer requirements within quality, service, safety, and cost targets
  • Coordinate diverse departments to unify efforts and implement programmes
  • Plan, develop, and implement processes to foster teamwork and consistent performance
  • Review reporting and workflow to reduce costs and improve efficiency; maintain harmony between managers and staff
  • Communicate with other managers and external stakeholders to exchange information and implement staff development programmes
  • Ensure compliance with Quality and Environmental management systems; maintain morale and high service levels while planning for growth
  • Develop and manage the planning process from forecasting through production scheduling, procurement, storage and distribution
  • Identify and manage capital investment to support productivity, quality, service, safety, and environmental goals
  • Lead safety initiatives, ensure safe equipment and training, and strive for zero injuries; enforce safe systems of work
  • Prepare operating plans for Area Director approval and direct overall operations to meet objectives
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, communication, and continuous improvement across operations
  • Monitor targets for financial, quality, and delivery performance and drive responsible cost management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key requirements

  • Managerial experience in FMCG and batch process environments (supervisory/management qualification preferred)
  • Experience with ISO9001 and ISO14002 (or IS04002)
  • Knowledge of TQM, JIT and continuous improvement techniques
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies
  • Experience with plant and equipment operations (chemical plant preferred)
  • Strong communication, motivation, and relationship-building skills
  • Results-driven with ability to prepare and present reports
  • Understanding of business systems and performance analysis to improve site performance
  • Advanced PC skills and strong financial/commercial awareness
  • Ability to work in an English-speaking environment
  • Salary expectations understanding (GBP 77k-90k)
