Overview

In this role you lead consents and commitments management across complex infrastructure programs, ensuring DCO and statutory compliance while managing risk and supporting governance. You operate with independence, providing technical oversight, assurance and leadership to multi-disciplinary teams. You will develop and maintain commitments registers and oversee post-DCO compliance activities, shaping project delivery and regulatory alignment. This senior position offers impact across programmes and interactions with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver consents and commitments across defined programme areas
  • Provide technical advice on DCO compliance and statutory requirements
  • Assure delivery partner consents management using a risk-based approach
  • Develop and maintain Commitments Registers and Registers of Requirements
  • Support certification, discharge of requirements and post-DCO compliance activities
  • Support change control processes to preserve DCO baseline integrity
  • Monitor compliance risks and changes in scope affecting time, cost or compliance
  • Lead audit and assurance activities related to consents compliance
  • Embed IMS and governance standards across teams
  • Lead small to medium consents teams and mentor junior consultants
  • Prepare and review consulting estimates and support project finance and schedule management

Key requirements

  • Seven or more years in consents or planning on major infrastructure projects
  • Experience delivering DCO or equivalent statutory consenting requirements
  • Experience working in NEC or comparable contracts
  • Experience in matrixed, multi-disciplinary environments
  • Proven ability to lead complex decision-making across multiple stakeholders
