Overview

Independent-minded roles are available to host a young person in a safe, supportive home. You help with life skills, budgeting and tenancy basics while promoting education and wellbeing. You’ll work alongside staff and professionals to enable a young person’s progression toward independence, with training and ongoing support. This is a meaningful role where a stable, caring home can make a lasting difference.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, welcoming home environment
  • Help young people develop life skills such as cooking, budgeting and managing a tenancy
  • Encourage education, employment and training opportunities
  • Promote wellbeing, confidence and independence
  • Work with Supported Lodgings staff and other professionals
  • Report any concerns relating to a young person’s welfare

Key requirements

  • Be aged 21 or over and able to work in the UK
  • Have a spare bedroom
  • Be supportive, patient and non-judgemental
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be willing to undertake training and ongoing development
  • No formal qualifications required
