Job Role: Security Officer
Working Hours: Average 42 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (12-hourshifts, times will vary depending on shift blocks)
Pay: £14.31 per hour
Location: Port Solent, The Boardwalk,Portsmouth, PO6 4TP
Reporting to: Contracts Manager
Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Servicesfor an experienced and customer-focused Security Officer to join ourestablished security team at Port Solent.
This is a varied and people-focused role in a vibrant outdoorshopping and leisure destination, where delivering a welcoming, safe, andenjoyable experience for visitors is a priority.
As a Security Officer, you will work as part of a dedicatedsite team on a permanent 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, averaging 42 hours perweek. The role involves working a mixture of day, mid, and night shifts,providing a visible security presence across the site and ensuring the safetyand security of visitors, tenants, staff, and property.
You will be responsible for conducting regular patrols,monitoring site activity, responding to incidents, and providing excellentcustomer service to members of the public. You will act as an ambassador forboth Anchor Group Services and Port Solent, creating a welcoming environmentwhile maintaining the highest standards of security and professionalism.
The successful candidate must hold both valid SIA and CCTVlicences, as the role includes operating on-site CCTV systems.
Shift Blocks
Day Shifts: 06:00 to 18:00
Mid Shifts:
- Tuesday to Thursday: 12:30 to 00:30
- Friday and Saturday: 15:30 to 03:30
- Sunday: 14:30 to 02:30
- Monday: 13:30 to 01:30
Night Shifts: 18:00 to 06:00
Duties Include:
- Protectingthe client’s property, people and assets in accordance with AssignmentInstructions and site-specific procedures.
- Providinga warm, welcoming and professional presence for all visitors, tenants andstaff.
- Actingas the first point of contact for customers and visitors, offeringguidance, information and assistance.
- Conductingregular foot patrols throughout the site to identify and mitigatepotential security risks.
- MonitoringCCTV systems in accordance with site procedures and data protectionrequirements.
- Supportinga safe and welcoming environment through high-visibility patrols andproactive engagement.
- Respondingpromptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies and security concerns.
- Liaisingprofessionally with site management, tenants, emergency services andmembers of the public.
- Reportingirregularities and addressing issues in line with site policies andprocedures.
- Completingaccurate reports, including incidents, observations and daily activitylogs.
- Maintainingcompliance with legal requirements, company policies and industrystandards.
- Contributingpositively to the team and maintaining professional conduct at all times.
Requirements
- Full 5-year employment checkable history – ESSENTIAL
- Valid frontline SIA Door Supervisor or Security GuardingLicence – ESSENTIAL
- Valid CCTV Licence – ESSENTIAL
- Ability to reliably commute to Port Solent, PO6 4TP.
- Previous security experience within a customer-facingenvironment preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills and confidence when dealingwith conflict.
- Flexible and reliable approach to shift work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Smart appearance and professional manner.
- Reliable, punctual and trustworthy.
- High level of enthusiasm and commitment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
