Overview

In this role you help Deloitte’s M&A Analytics team deliver data-driven insights to support transactions and value creation. You’ll work on diverse deals and performance-improvement projects for mid-market to large clients, shaping client service capabilities and translating data into actionable recommendations. You’ll manipulate large datasets, build interactive visualizations, and present findings to clients, contributing to measurable value across transactions. This role combines finance, analytics, and collaboration within a supportive, inclusive team.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the client, industry, and business drivers to frame analyses
  • Manipulate large datasets using SQL Server, Alteryx, Python, R, PowerPivot and generate insightful analyses
  • Develop interactive visualisations in PowerBI and Tableau to present findings
  • Analyze revenues and profits by product/customer, including lifecycle, segment/region performance, whitespace and opportunities, risks and improvement areas
  • Collaborate with Deloitte engagement teams to deliver end-to-end M&A and value creation services
  • Contribute to an inclusive team culture where members support each other and learn together

Key requirements

  • Analytical tool knowledge (PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, Excel with Power Query/Pivot, SQL, Python, R)
  • Relational data modelling in PowerBI; DAX knowledge advantageous
  • Experience with cloud data tools (Azure, Snowflake, Fivetran) advantageous
  • Ability to manipulate, analyse and visualise client data into value-add financial and commercial analysis
  • Strong communication of findings to clients in a professional services context
  • Understanding of financial and commercial drivers and basic/advanced finance knowledge
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in teams and take initiative under tight timeframes
  • Willingness to learn and grow; mentoring/supervisory potential for more senior roles
