Head of Design

Overview

As Head of Design, you will lead the experience design team and own design output across product areas, combining UX and visual design. You will shape design strategy to support global growth and cultivate a strong design culture and maturity within a scaling fintech. You will hire and develop best-in-class talent and act as a senior business leader in a fast-moving startup environment. The role requires proximity to London, with 2–3 days per week in the office, contributing to a high-impact, cross-functional product organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the experience design team across product areas
• Own end-to-end design output including experience and visual design
• Develop and execute design strategy to support global market expansion
• Cultivate a strong design culture and maturity within the organization
• Recruit, mentor, and develop senior designers and design leads
• Act as a versatile business leader in a fast-moving startup environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align design with business goals
• Drive consistency and quality across product experiences

Key requirements

• Proven experience managing senior designers and design leads
• Valuable fintech or consumer app domain experience
• Ability to wear multiple hats in a startup environment
• Strong business leadership capabilities
• Willingness to work partly in London (2–3 days/week)
