Responsibilities
- Design power distribution, lighting, fire detection, earthing and lightning protection for buildings
- Perform short circuit, overcurrent coordination and maximum demand studies
- Lighting photometric modelling
- Technical report writing and electrical calculations
- Work in 3D using Revit MEP and develop design reports
- Collaborate with Architects, Fire Engineers and other disciplines to refine designs
- Coordinate electrical systems in design meetings, site visits, presentations and workshops; assist with commissioning and support your designs
- Develop electrical building services to enhance building performance across projects from concept to construction
Key requirements
- Masters degree in Electrical, Architectural, General or Building Services Engineering, or Engineering Science (preferred); strong Bachelor’s degrees considered
- Studying or having studied an IET, CIBSE or Engineering Council accredited course
- Analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong working knowledge of Office and ability to learn new 3D design/digital automation software
- Enthusiasm for a career in building design and solid understanding of electrical engineering
