Overview
In this role you lead audit engagements, delivering high-quality assurance and serving as the primary client contact. You bring deep ISA/UK GAAP/IFRS knowledge and apply Grant Thornton’s audit methodology to manage risk and scope. You coach teams, nurture client relationships as a trusted advisor, and drive cross-service line opportunities. You operate with integrity within a supportive culture focused on growth, development, and delivering value.
Responsibilities
- Oversee planning, execution and completion of audit engagements
- Serve as primary client liaison on day-to-day matters
- Apply technical knowledge of ISAs, UK GAAP, IFRS, and audit methodology
- Identify audit risks, design strategy, and ensure defensible approaches
- Manage budgets, timelines and engagement profitability
- Lead and develop Assistant Managers and Associates
- Maintain strong client relationships as trusted advisor
- Identify cross-service line opportunities and contribute to growth
- Review financial statements for compliance
- Consult with Engagement Leaders and specialists on high-risk areas
- Contribute to proposals and business development
- Adhere to risk management policies and quality reporting
- Maintain ongoing professional development
- Act with integrity and uphold organisational values
Key requirements
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
