Overview
In this role you will lead the people agenda for a UK-based operation within an international organisation, acting as the trusted HR adviser to senior leaders. You will blend strategic input with hands-on delivery across the full employee lifecycle, including complex employee relations and French employment matters. The position offers autonomy, cross-jurisdiction governance, and opportunities to shape change, recruitment, and performance across multiple countries. You will work closely with leadership to drive talent development, workforce planning, and compliance, with monthly travel to France. This role combines strategic influence with practical delivery in a fast-paced, global context.

Responsibilities
- Act as the primary HR adviser to senior leaders and managers
- Lead complex employee relations matters, with focus on French employment law
- Guide disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance issues
- Support organisational change initiatives, restructures and workforce planning
- Manage recruitment processes and partner with leaders on hiring needs
- Drive performance management, talent development and succession planning
- Oversee payroll inputs, employee records, HR policies and employment documentation
- Manage external HR and legal partners for specialist advice
- Ensure HR processes, governance and reporting are compliant and fit for purpose
Key requirements
- Significant HR Manager or HR Business Partner experience
- Strong working knowledge of French employment law and employee relations
- Fluency in French and English, with ability to manage discussions and legal documentation in French
- Experience supporting organisational change, talent management and recruitment
- Commercial and pragmatic problem-solving approach
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate at leadership level
- Experience in international or multi-country environments advantageous
- CIPD qualification (or equivalent) would be beneficial
