Overview
In this role, you join ING’s eTrading team in London to help build the next generation of pricing and hedging algorithms for the financial markets. You will work closely with trading desks and global teams to deploy quantitative models that support electronic trading across multiple product classes. You’ll use a mix of Python, Java, and modern data tools to deliver production-ready solutions. This role combines advanced analytics with real-time trading impact in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop pricing and hedging algorithms for electronic trading across FX, equities, fixed income and derivatives
- Collaborate with trading desks and global eTrading teams to deploy models in production
- Experiment with statistics and machine learning methods to improve pricing accuracy and risk hedges
- Maintain and extend ML libraries and data pipelines in Python and related tools
- Work with multiple technologies and languages (Python, Java, Broadway, KDB, proprietary software)
- Evaluate model performance and monitor live trading results to drive continuous improvement
- Contribute to data and business intelligence strategy within eTrading
- Engage in research and experimentation to stay ahead of market developments
Key requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience on an eFX trading desk developing pricing and hedging strategies
- Excellent understanding of statistics and machine learning models
- Strong research and analysis skills with Python and ML libraries
- Interest in financial markets and flexibility in development technologies
- Experience across Python, Java, Broadway, KDB, and proprietary software
- Desirable: production-developed pricing and hedging strategies; client/franchise optimisation; experience with q/KDB+ and Java
