Overview

As Engineering Delivery Manager at Thales OME in Glasgow, you will lead multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver complex development and production projects. You will define the delivery strategy, resource plan, and manage cost, schedule and quality across the programme, working closely with the Programme Manager, the Engineering Delivery Lead, and the PDA. You will enable proactive risk and issue management, seek opportunities for reuse, and act as People Manager for the engineering team. This role offers impact in a fast-moving, security-cleared environment, shaping critical defence and aerospace solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-performing, multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions
  • Define engineering delivery strategy and resource profile aligned to estimates
  • Manage interfaces with the wider delivery strategy of the programme
  • Define organisation/work breakdown and required budgets/timescales
  • Plan and prioritise activities to meet contract schedule, cost and quality
  • Oversee day-to-day management of team activities and risk/opportunity management
  • Monitor and report engineering efficiency and performance metrics
  • Identify re-use opportunities across the project
  • Act as People Manager for the engineering team and contribute to people reviews
  • Collaborate with Programme Manager and Project Design Authority (PDA) for project delivery

Key requirements

  • Strong engineering background with experience delivering multi-disciplinary projects
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with multiple parallel objectives
  • Understanding of systems engineering life cycle, practices and tools
  • Knowledge of naval, air or land products is beneficial
  • Security Clearance (SC) is required or to be obtained before employment
