Senior Product Compliance & Risk Manager – Operational Resilience and Outsourcing

Overview

In this role you will own the UK Operational Resilience and Outsourcing framework within Wise’s first line Product Compliance & Risk team, ensuring resilience and third-party governance across UK entities. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, Risk, and Operations to meet regulatory expectations and internal standards. You will lead assessments, mappings, and testing of critical services and dependencies to support resilience. This position offers a chance to shape regulatory compliance by design in a fast-paced financial technology environment.

Responsibilities

• Understand and assess UK regulatory requirements for operational resilience, outsourcing, and third-party risk management
• Understand the wider regulatory framework for payments, e-money, and retail investment services
• Own the Operational Resilience and Outsourcing framework, including standards and controls
• Identify important business services, define impact tolerances, map and test people, technology, processes, and third-party dependencies
• Lead the annual Operational Resilience Self-Assessment (ORSA) and produce the Annual Board Paper
• Document and maintain internal controls; standardise regional resilience and outsourcing controls
• Oversee the compliance approach for outsourcing and critical third-party arrangements
• Ensure UK entities comply with regulatory requirements on resilience and outsourcing, including reporting
• Build scalable governance for third-party lifecycle management (due diligence, risk assessment, contracting, monitoring, change, exit planning)

Key requirements

• Minimum six years’ experience in operational resilience, outsourcing/TPRM, technology risk, or product compliance in financial services
• Strong knowledge of UK regulatory framework for resilience and outsourcing (PS21/3, PS26/2, SYSC 15A, SYSC 8)
• Experience with regulatory analysis and risk management
• Understanding of payments and retail investment product journeys
• Ability to work independently with limited guidance and drive adoption
• Analytical mindset with ability to break down and prioritise problems
• Strong communication skills with cross-team stakeholders
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and exercising sound judgment
• Experience with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and risk/controls software
