Overview

As Global Retirement Risk Manager, you will partner with legal, tax, benefits, HR, and operations to identify and mitigate risks across Amazon’s international retirement programs. You’ll design risk frameworks, govern vendor interactions, and lead risk reporting to ensure regulatory compliance and fiduciary integrity. This hands-on role emphasizes data-driven insights, cross-functional collaboration, and improving the employee experience within a growing, complex benefits program. You’ll operate in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and have a clear impact on global pension governance and program design.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement risk management solutions for pension-related risks to support strategic initiatives and scale programs
  • Review international retirement plans to identify operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational risks and ensure compliance with risk tolerance and regulatory obligations
  • Create and execute corrective action plans to address vulnerabilities and emerging risks, including compliance gaps and fiduciary threats
  • Conduct risk assessments for retirement projects, audits, and compliance reviews; communicate findings and mitigation strategies; manage escalations
  • Develop automated risk dashboards and country inventories using AI tools; become proficient in Amazon risk systems and tools
  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting international pension programs and craft risk-adjusted compliance strategies
  • Lead or participate in RFIs/RFPs ensuring risk considerations in vendor selection and management
  • Travel up to 20% to perform on-site risk assessments and stakeholder engagement

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to operate with ambiguity and deliver results in an agile environment
  • Experience in project management including resource planning, scheduling, status reporting, and prioritization
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Strong project management and fast-paced execution skills
  • Business analysis and quantitative/organizational skills, including intermediate Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Experience delivering customer-focused documentation across multiple teams
  • Experience in compliance program management, governance, audit, or risk management
  • Experience influencing multiple stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams across geographies
