Overview

As Regulatory Reporting Industry Engagement & Advocacy Lead, you will represent Bank of America’s interests in industry forums and influence non-financial regulatory reporting standards. You will serve as an SME on regulatory reporting obligations and collaborate with legal, risk, compliance, operations, and technology to interpret rules and drive regulatory change initiatives. You will build relationships with industry participants and regulators to stay ahead of developments and support firm-wide positions. The role combines advocacy, policy interpretation, and cross-functional coordination to mitigate regulatory impact and enhance reporting controls. This is a strategic, externally-facing

Responsibilities

  • Participate in industry working groups and regulatory forums, articulating BofA’s position on regulatory reporting matters
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry participants, trade associations, regulators, and market infrastructure providers
  • Understand BofA position on regulatory interpretations to influence industry decisions and protect interests
  • Contribute to discussions and advocacy within key industry groups (e.g., ISDA, GFXD, UK Finance Reporting)
  • Monitor regulatory developments and changes to reporting frameworks across jurisdictions
  • Assess impact of new regulatory requirements on reporting processes and controls
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent interpretation and implementation of reporting requirements
  • Support development of firm-wide positions on regulatory reporting issues and responses
  • Provide SME advisory support to business, operations, technology, compliance, and change teams
  • Identify regulatory reporting risks and opportunities for process improvement and efficiency

Key requirements

  • Strong knowledge of global regulatory reporting regimes and industry standards
  • Experience participating in industry groups, trade associations, or regulatory forums
  • Deep understanding of transaction reporting, trade reporting, and regulatory reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate into practical business impacts
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience working across Compliance, Legal, Operations, Technology, and Change functions
