Overview
In this role you will help shape SSE’s long-term strategy during the energy transition. You’ll partner with senior leaders and the CEO to identify opportunities for sustainable growth and guide decision-making with commercial insight. You will build relationships across the organization, communicate complex ideas clearly, and support a high-performing, inclusive team culture. This is a chance to influence major strategic priorities and contribute to SSE’s net-zero ambitions.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with SSE leaders to deliver strategic projects aligned with long-term priorities and sustainable growth
- Evaluate investment opportunities, emerging tech, partnerships and new markets to inform responsible decisions
- Build trusted relationships across the organization to support thoughtful decision-making
- Communicate complex information clearly to senior and Executive stakeholders
- Support, mentor and develop colleagues to foster an inclusive, high-performing culture
Key requirements
- Experience leading complex strategy, corporate development, consulting, investment or commercial projects with real business impact
- Strong analytical thinking combined with commercial awareness to bring clarity to complex situations
- Excellent relationship-building, communication and stakeholder engagement skills with senior leaders
- Collaborative, inclusive approach and commitment to developing others
- Interest in the energy transition and experience in energy, infrastructure, utilities or large-scale investment-led sectors
