In this role you will lead major M&E, electrical, and decarbonisation programmes in the Northern region, guiding complex projects from design through handover. You’ll own programme performance across cost, time, quality, safety, and client satisfaction, while shaping governance and engaging senior stakeholders. The position sits at the intersection of delivery, commercial governance, and sustainability, offering high-visibility leadership within a growing technical services provider. You will partner with cross-functional teams to drive safe, efficient, and low-carbon project delivery that supports the UK’s energy transition.

Responsibilities
- Take strategic and operational accountability for programme performance across cost, time, quality, safety and customer expectations
- Lead projects from early design development through construction, commissioning, measurement and verification, and handover
- Develop programme strategies, manage inter-project dependencies and governance across commercial, financial, operational, risk and QSHE
- Act as senior client contact, chair project boards and represent the business at steering groups
- Provide direction to Project Managers, Site Managers, multidisciplinary teams and third-party contractors
- Support commercial negotiations, change management, contract amendments, risk allocation, bids and mobilisation
- Promote safety, wellbeing, inclusion, continuous improvement, innovation and sustainable delivery
- Identify opportunities, efficiencies and improvements that support client relationships and business growth
Key requirements
- Significant experience leading complex engineering, construction, energy or energy performance contracting projects and portfolios
- Strong knowledge of M&E and electrical project delivery within construction or infrastructure environments
- Strong commercial awareness, including financial management, governance and performance responsibility
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, supply chain partners and third-party contractors
- Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts, with confidence supporting commercial negotiations and change control
- Understanding of the full EPC project lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning and measurement and verification
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior internal and external stakeholders
- Experience implementing governance, systems and processes within a growing or changing business
- Passion for Net Zero, sustainability, energy efficiency and carbon reduction projects
- Engineering or construction-related degree and APM qualification would be advantageous
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK and a full, valid UK driving licence
