Overview

In this role, you will lead the UK region for Third-Party Risk Management, embedding the global TPRM framework and ensuring compliance and strong governance. You will partner with contract owners to monitor supplier risk, drive remediation, and enhance external and intra-group controls. You’ll chair governance forums and support regulatory expectations, including FCA/PRA and Operational Resilience, to strengthen Sompo’s outsourcing and third-party risk posture. This is a London-based, hybrid position with a clear impact on risk governance and operational resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Global TPRM operating model in the UK region and liaison with the Global TPRM team
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage risk exposure through proactive contract reviews, remediation actions, and service improvements
  • Uplift intragroup standards to mitigate risk and enhance operational resilience
  • Serve as oversight contact for major BPO arrangements (e.g., Genpact, EXL) with governance and contractual oversight
  • Ensure UK third-party engagements comply with FCA/PRA guidance and internal policies
  • Provide end-to-end governance of material outsourcing and critical services, monitoring risk exposure and regulatory obligations
  • Maintain Material Third-Party and Intragroup Services Register and ensure accurate reporting to Audit, committees, boards, and regulators
  • Chair governance forums with material providers to drive issue resolution and delivery oversight
  • Lead the quarterly TPRM Portfolio Review for consolidated risk oversight ahead of OpCo reporting
  • Maintain TPRM data, repositories and management information, ensuring data quality and timely reporting
  • Provide risk insights and guidance to stakeholders to support informed decision-making and risk management across the business
  • Support training, communications and change initiatives to strengthen TPRM capability across the organisation
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to strengthen controls and continuously improve the TPRM framework
  • Provide feedback to the Global TPRM team to evolve the global framework and operating model

Key requirements

  • Bachelor-style degree; certifications in risk management are advantageous
  • Proven risk management experience in insurance or financial services
  • Strong knowledge of FCA/PRA, Operational Resilience, and GDPR requirements
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with ability to build cross-functional relationships
