Overview
In this role you will lead liquidity and interest rate risk management for UK-based entities, acting as an independent risk voice within the second line. You will partner with Treasury, risk teams, and senior stakeholders to monitor, challenge, and oversee risk processes. You will analyze balance sheet changes and market conditions to inform decisions and ensure regulatory alignment. This role offers meaningful impact through rigorous analysis, governance, and collaboration with cross-border teams to strengthen the firm’s resilience.
Responsibilities
- Provide liquidity and interest rate risk coverage across UK legal entities, collaborating with local and international stakeholders.
- Deliver independent risk challenge and oversight of liquidity and interest rate risk activities in Treasury and entities.
- Analyze balance sheet changes to assess risk impacts and provide an independent perspective.
- Review liquidity and interest rate risks across UK entities and coordinate with Treasury and Risk Management teams.
- Monitor UK balance sheets using limits and indicators to control regional risks.
- Develop and present materials for Risk Committees as needed.
- Support regulatory requests related to liquidity and interest rate risk from a second-line perspective.
- Participate in second-line review and challenge activities, including change management, testing, data reviews, and control assessments.
Key requirements
- Bachelor in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
- Experience in banking within Treasury, Liquidity Risk, Market Risk, and/or fixed income trading
- Understanding of liquidity risk management and related regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of balance sheet analysis for banking products and complex financial products
- Understanding of risk monitoring governance and controls, including liquidity and interest rate risk frameworks
- Strong grounding in financial theory and accounting principles
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to perform complex quantitative and financial analysis
- Ability to think critically, work independently, and form independent viewpoints
- Ability to identify opportunities to enhance management information and reporting through scalable technology solutions
