Senior Credit Risk Manager, Credit Platform

Overview

As Lead for Monzo’s Credit Platform, you will shape and scale our shared lending infrastructure. You’ll partner with Credit, Engineering, Product, Data and Risk teams to deploy robust credit decisioning across UK and international markets. You drive the NPV-based valuation framework and platform capabilities, enabling fast, data-driven lending strategies. You’ll lead a high-performing team to deliver cross-functional impact, balancing technical excellence with practical lending outcomes. This role sits at the heart of Monzo’s mission to bring responsible, innovative credit to more people, with real influence on product and growth.

Responsibilities

• Define the roadmap for Monzo’s Credit Platform and evolve shared infrastructure for product lending teams
• Lead the development of credit valuation infrastructure, including the NPV modelling framework, ensuring scalability and reliability
• Hire, coach and develop a high-performing team of Credit Analysts and drive continuous improvement
• Collaborate across Credit, Engineering, Product, Machine Learning, Data and Risk to accelerate experimentation and improve decisioning speed and quality
• Represent the Credit Platform to senior leaders and influence the future direction of the lending platform
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations and drive platform capabilities with broad impact

Key requirements

• Technical and strategic leadership in unsecured lending
• Deep understanding of lending economics and NPV modelling
• Experience leading cross-functional teams with Product, Engineering, Risk and Data
• Strong analytical capabilities with SQL (essential); Python and Looker a plus
• Proven track record of building or improving analytical platforms and decisioning frameworks
• Comfort with fast-paced environments and ambiguity
