Overview
In this role, you will design and lead the Product Risk and Compliance Program to enable Wise to issue credit cards across global licenses. You will embed in the Global Spend team, owning regulatory and risk controls, and steering cross-functional work with product and engineering. You’ll translate regulatory requirements into actionable controls, drive metrics, and coordinate remediation and evidence. This is a high-impact, first-line-of-defence role that shapes customer-focused compliance at scale for a global card program.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement regulatory controls for the Credit Card program across global licenses
- Translate regulatory requirements for product and engineering teams
- Balance global controls with local regulatory needs and prioritise requirements
- Drive launch of new products by implementing compliant, customer-centric controls
- Define global Regulatory and Compliance KRIs and regionalise them for local teams
- Coordinate issue prioritisation and timely remediation
- Identify opportunities to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency
- Report health of the Credit Card program to stakeholders and lead regulatory, fincrime, and risk discussions
Key requirements
- 8+ years in Compliance, preferably in financial or payments institutions, card schemes or related advisory roles
- 5+ years advising on regulatory challenges for card schemes or issuing solutions
- Experience across multiple compliance areas: fraud/financial crime, consumer protection, funds segregation, regulatory issuing regimes
- Strong ownership to drive projects end-to-end and dive into domain details
- Engaging communicator capable of collaborating with regulators and engineers
- Analytical with data-driven decision making and challenge-forces assumptions
- Willingness to travel occasionally for global offices
- Experience in fast-growth environments and applying industry knowledge to Wise’s model
