Overview
In this Indirect Buyer role, you will manage indirect spend across MRO, maintenance, engineering services, facilities and professional services to deliver commercial value. You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HSE and Finance to optimize supplier performance and drive cost savings. The position sits in the procurement team of a major manufacturing business on Teesside, offering the chance to shape indirect sourcing strategies and contract outcomes. You will work in a cross-functional environment with a focus on value, governance and procurement improvements.

Responsibilities
- Source suppliers and manage RFQs, tenders and negotiations
- Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts
- Manage supplier relationships and performance
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, HSE and Finance
- Support contract management and procurement improvements
Key requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in a Buyer, Procurement or Purchasing role
- Experience across indirect procurement categories
- Manufacturing/engineering/industrial environment experience advantageous
- Strong supplier management, sourcing, tendering and negotiation
- Commercially aware with ability to assess cost, quality, service and value
- Confident dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Strong organisation/time-management with multiple priorities
- Analytical skills and experience with procurement data and Excel
- Experience using procurement/ERP systems
- CIPS qualification advantageous but not essential
