In this role you will manage indirect material sourcing for South Molton, ensuring uninterrupted supply at optimal cost and quality. You’ll nurture strategic supplier relationships and drive cost reductions across the site, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver value. You will lead cost-out projects and supplier improvements, aligning with corporate commodity strategies. Responsibilities
- Manage indirect material supplier relationships for the site and opportunities for cost-out and supplier improvement
- Negotiate with internal and external suppliers and resolve issues to achieve win-win outcomes
- Ensure compliance with corporate indirect material supply contracts and consolidate spend
- Monitor supplier base changes and drive leveraged spend through contracts
- Develop cost-out projects and commodity strategies with cross-functional teams
- Facilitate supplier questions on accounts payable and resolve payment issues
- Collaborate across functions to identify opportunities and align with strategic goals
- Gain experience in total cost management drivers for cost outsourcing strategies
Key requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in a supply chain or material management function (preferably Aerospace)
- Expert knowledge in commodity strategies, sourcing initiatives, and cost-out programs
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking
- Experience with commodity products and suppliers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of ERP operations, enterprise reporting systems, and data mining
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of commercial terms and contract terms in corporate settings
