Senior Buyer

Overview

In this Senior Buyer role, you will manage supplier relationships and secure reliable supply of materials to support manufacturing operations. You will negotiate contracts and pricing while driving cost savings and value improvement across the supply chain. You will partner with operations, production and engineering to ensure procurement aligns with business goals and budgets. Responsibilities

• Managing supplier relationships and performance
• Negotiating pricing, contracts and terms to achieve the best commercial outcomes
• Identifying and implementing cost-saving and value improvement initiatives
• Monitoring market trends and supplier developments
• Ensuring continuity of supply and mitigating supply chain risks
• Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders across operations, production and engineering
• Managing procurement activities in line with business objectives and budgets
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function

Key requirements

• Previous experience in a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Procurement role
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Commercially minded with ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Manufacturing procurement experience would be advantageous; however, candidates from other sectors will also be considered
• CIPS qualification, or working towards it, would be beneficial but is not essential
