Overview
In this role you will source technically complex machined and metallic components for high-performance engineering programmes. You will work closely with engineers and suppliers to ensure quality, timing and technical accuracy, balancing commercial and technical considerations. You will read engineering drawings and make sourcing decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment, helping to keep race programmes on track. This position sits at the heart of a technically credible procurement function, driving value and risk management across critical deliverables.

Responsibilities
- Manage sourcing and delivery of technically complex machining and metallic components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements
- Discuss manufacturability, lead times, technical risk and cost with engineers and suppliers
- Apply understanding of machining and manufacturing processes to sourcing decisions
- Identify supply chain, technical or quality risks early and mitigate them
- Ensure on-time delivery and fit for purpose components in a demanding delivery-focused environment
- Maintain accurate purchasing and ERP data including pricing, lead times and invoice resolution
- Make sound judgement calls under pressure with changing priorities
Key requirements
- Experience in technical purchasing within Motorsport or advanced engineering
- Strong knowledge of machining and metallic component procurement
- Confidence reading engineering drawings and specifications
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering constraints
- Experience using ERP/purchasing systems in a fast-paced technical environment
- Commercial awareness and exposure to should-cost analysis
- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline
- CIPS qualification advantageous but not essential
- IFS ERP knowledge and strong Excel skills beneficial
