Overview
In this Senior Buyer role, you will shape procurement for Murphy’s Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework. You’ll lead sub-contractor and material sourcing, aiming for best overall value while aligning with regional strategy. You’ll build and manage an accredited supply chain, drive performance improvements, and coordinate with regional units to ensure consistent procurement across projects. This position offers exposure to major energy projects, strategic supplier development, and opportunities to influence cost efficiency and delivery within a leading, innovative energy contractor.

Responsibilities
- Procure sub-contractors and materials professionally and efficiently
- Develop and implement regional procurement strategy to match demand
- Structure and manage the supply chain to improve performance and cost benefits
- Drive continuous improvement in supply chain performance and relationships
- Support group procurement goals and ensure consistent approaches across projects
- Lead robust negotiation processes in supplier engagements
- Develop accredited, region-aligned supply chain in line with Murphy strategy
- Monitor market pricing, risks, and opportunities to inform decisions
- Foster closer relationships with strategic suppliers and coordinate with other regional units
- Provide regular information on regional procurement activities and outcomes
Key requirements
- Experience in a procurement role within construction or civil engineering environment
- CIPS accredited
- Strong knowledge of construction pre-construction through construction processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise with staff and external contacts at all levels
- Knowledge of trades relevant to Power, Transmission & Distribution projects (desirable)
