Overview
In this role you shape Mastercard’s employee relations strategy for the UK, Ireland and Europe, partnering with People Business Partners and counsel to address ER issues. You will lead investigations, document findings, and generate insights to improve processes within a culture of decency and fairness. The position is based in London with hybrid work (3 days in office). You’ll work across regions to manage complex cases while aligning with Mastercard values.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert ER guidance to People Business Partners, managers and employees on policies and processes
- Lead and support ER investigations in collaboration with counsel and stakeholders
- Prepare investigative documentation and maintain data/tracking for cases
- Utilize case management system to manage cases from intake to resolution
- Produce periodic ER reporting for senior stakeholders
- Build cross-functional relationships across geographies
- Advise on ER topics in UK, Ireland and Europe including performance management, TUPE, discipline and risk in terminations
- Collaborate with control functions on investigations and outcomes
- Create data-driven insights to improve ER processes and culture
Key requirements
- Complex, multinational, matrixed, fast-paced experience
- Law background (legally qualified or equivalent) with strong employment law capability
- Market experience in UK and Ireland (broader Europe preferred)
- CIPD qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Strong HR expertise with demonstrable ER experience
- Proven project management for global or cross-regional initiatives
- Strong investigative, analytical, problem-solving skills
