Overview
In this role you will lead the Talent, Resourcing and Learning function to attract, develop and retain the workforce needed to keep communities safe. You will work with senior leaders across the fire service and local government to shape workforce strategies and delivery. Expect to drive recruitment, workforce planning and learning initiatives while building a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of talent, resourcing and learning strategies aligned to organisational priorities
- Drive recruitment and retention initiatives to attract and retain talent
- Use workforce data and market intelligence to inform strategic workforce planning
- Oversee learning and development pathways and ensure high-quality opportunities
- Lead procurement and management of learning and talent systems and contracts
- Manage and develop a high-performing team and foster continuous improvement and innovation
Key requirements
- Significant experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, resourcing, learning and development, or organisational development
- Experience developing and implementing workforce, talent or resourcing strategies
- Strong stakeholder management with ability to influence at senior leadership level
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Knowledge of employment legislation and best practice in recruitment and talent management
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and make recommendations
- Professional HR qualification (Chartered CIPD Level 7) or equivalent experience
- Experience in local government, emergency services or complex public sector environment (advantageous)
