Overview

As a Backup & Recovery Consultant in our Professional Services team, you will own end-to-end enterprise backup and data protection deployments for complex customer environments. You will drive technical implementations from requirements through configuration, testing and handover, working closely with customers and vendor support. This remote UK role emphasizes hands-on delivery, technical leadership, and clear communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will join a specialist MSP focused on delivering impactful, governed data protection projects at scale.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and implement enterprise backup, recovery and data protection solutions across customer environments
• Lead customer projects from requirements to implementation, testing and handover
• Configure backup technologies across complex data centre environments
• Own technical delivery of backup implementations and ensure successful outcomes
• Troubleshoot complex issues during deployment lifecycle
• Act as senior technical contact for customers throughout implementations
• Translate customer requirements into effective technical solutions
• Explain technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders
• Collaborate with vendor support and engineering to resolve issues
• Produce detailed technical and As-Built documentation post-deployment
• Work independently across multiple concurrent projects
• Understand integration of backup solutions with broader infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and data centres

Key requirements

• Deep technical expertise in enterprise backup, recovery and data protection technologies
• Hands-on experience with at least one of Commvault, NetBackup, Veeam or Rubrik
• Experience deploying and implementing enterprise backup solutions (not just administration)
• Proven track record delivering full deployment lifecycle: config, integration, troubleshooting, testing, handover
• Several years delivering complex technical implementations in customer environments
• Strong understanding of backup architecture and data protection principles
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environments
• Comfort with technical ownership and independent project work
• Strong customer-facing communication skills for technical discussions
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure and networking basics (DNS, virtualization, data centres)
• Experience in Professional Services, MSP, or vendor-facing roles is advantageous
