Overview
As a Physical Design Engineer, you will transform complex RTL into high-quality silicon as part of a collaborative digital backend team. You’ll work across the full flow—from floorplanning to final sign-off—balancing performance, power, and area at advanced nodes. You will influence flows and automation, driving efficiency and technical innovation for next-generation products. This role offers the chance to partner with RTL, verification, packaging, and product engineering to tackle challenging design problems and meet aggressive schedules.
Responsibilities
- Drive the physical design flow from floorplanning to sign-off
- Optimize designs for power, performance, and area within tight schedules
- Contribute to new flows and automation to improve team efficiency
- Collaborate with RTL, verification, packaging, and product engineering groups
- Own technical challenges and propose robust solutions
Key requirements
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
- Solid background in digital backend/physical design, ideally including work at 7nm or below
- Practical knowledge of timing closure, clock tree design, physical verification, and sign-off processes
- Strong scripting/programming ability (Python, Tcl)
