Senior Underwriter // ATE Insurance

Overview

In this Senior Underwriter role, you will assess and underwrite ATE insurance risks within a litigation-focused platform. You’ll work with litigation funders, law firms, brokers, and claims advisers to evaluate merits and structure solutions for funded disputes. You’ll shape the firm’s underwriting approach and cultivate key relationships to originate opportunities and grow the ATE offering. This is a capital-backed, fast-growing platform where your credit risk insight and market savvy will help expand presence in the litigation risk insurance market.

Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite ATE insurance risks for complex disputes
• Evaluate merits of underlying claims to inform coverage decisions
• Structure insurance solutions to support funded litigation strategies
• Contribute to the firm’s broader underwriting strategy in litigation risk
• Develop and maintain relationships with litigation funders, claimant law firms, and intermediaries
• Originate new opportunities and support growth of the ATE offering
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage high-value portfolios

Key requirements

• Direct experience in the litigation funding market (funder, ATE insurer, specialist broker, or disputes advisory)
• Strong understanding of dynamics between funders, insurers, and claimant firms in funded litigation structures
• Track record in underwriting complex, high-value disputes
• Ability to build and maintain industry relationships and networks
