Principal EICA Design Engineer (Water Sector)

Overview

You will join the Regulated Water Asset Design team to design and deliver EICA engineering solutions for water infrastructure projects. You’ll work across tenders, concept, detailed design and commissioning support, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external clients. Your impact spans safe, compliant, and efficient control systems for wastewater, water treatment and network schemes. Responsibilities

• Deliver EICA design inputs for infrastructure projects
• Prepare and review EICA deliverables: technical specs, calculations, datasheets, control philosophies, user requirements and schedules
• Review tender evaluations and participate in proposals, scoping, and resourcing estimates
• Ensure compliance with DSEAR and EICA equipment safety in explosive atmospheres
• Oversee inspection, testing, commissioning, and factory acceptance tests for panels, PLC/HMI, and SCADA
• Mentor ICA junior staff and support knowledge transfer
• Travel to operational/construction sites for surveys, inspections and testing while upholding safety requirements

Key requirements

• Degree qualified (IET accredited) in electrical or control engineering or minimum HND in electrical/control with substantial experience
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer registration with Engineering Council
• Extensive EICA design experience for water infrastructure including deliverables like specs, calculations, reports, datasheets, control philosophies, and network drawings
• Knowledge of DSEAR, electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres, and CDM regulations for installations
• Strong client-facing, collaborative, and self-driven work style
• Willingness to travel to sites for surveys, inspections, and testing; safety-focused
