Executive Head of legal Transformation & Dispute Management

Overview

As Chief Legal Officer, you will shape and oversee the global legal strategy, focusing on serious litigation, dispute management, M&A, regulatory affairs, and IP. You will partner with regional teams and the CRO to ensure consistent standards, governance, and strategic oversight across geographies. You’ll lead high-impact investigations, talent planning, and the post-deal integration of complex transactions, driving transformation of the global legal operating model. This role offers the chance to influence executive decisions and elevate legal risk governance at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a global litigation strategy with governance, escalation protocols, and dispute-resolution frameworks
• Build internal capabilities and external partnerships to manage serious disputes with regional leaders
• Oversee serious dispute matters with regional units and CRO team, ensuring reporting and strategic oversight
• Lead scenario planning and readiness for high-impact legal events and disputes
• Oversee and handle serious internal wrongdoing incidents with consistent standards and strategic oversight
• Directly lead investigations and analysis of serious incidents, developing options and recommendations
• Collaborate with Strategic People & Culture to map global legal talent for FY25 and prepare for a global operating model in FY26
• Lead efforts to align legal talent with global operational needs and support transformation
• Champion growth and development of legal talent, promoting excellence, integrity and continuous learning
• Lead legal strategy for global M&A, joint ventures, and legal entity rationalization, including due diligence, risk mitigation, and post-deal integration
• Direct project execution on M&A and JV transactions, including due diligence and negotiation
• Develop and maintain legal frameworks and best practices to support global M&A activities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure regulatory-aligned deal structures
• Support post-M&A integration ensuring alignment with global legal frameworks and risk posture
• Oversee legal compliance with global regulatory requirements and risk management
• Monitor regulatory trends and advise executive leadership on strategic implications
• Lead contact with regulatory authorities as directed by the CLO
• Play a leading role in IP strategy and policy development globally
• Ensure deep expertise in litigation, HRM, M&A, regulatory law, and IP, with integrity and cross-border leadership

Key requirements

• 12+ years of legal experience with significant exposure to M&A, litigation, and corporate regulation in a global context
• Experience supporting or working with executive leadership in a legal and strategic capacity
• Proven ability to design and implement litigation strategies and frameworks in a corporate environment
• Proven track record leading legal aspects of complex M&A transactions and post-deal integration
• Proven ability to lead legal operations and build scalable capabilities in a global matrixed environment
• Significant experience overseeing legal compliance across regulatory areas
• Experience managing external counsel and legal budgets in a global, complex setting
• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree; admission to practice in at least one jurisdiction; international qualifications preferred
