Overview

In this leadership role, you will establish and scale Anaplan’s formal security architecture practice, turning security architecture into reusable, design-forward assets. You’ll own reference architectures, identity and authorization patterns, cryptography standards, and AI guardrails, embedding secure-by-design as the default. You will lead a senior team, partnering with platform engineering to align architecture with the Hyperblock, Polaris, and AI product lines while supporting enterprise compliance. This is a mission-critical role at the intersection of engineering and security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the security architecture practice and define the architecture review process
  • Own reusable security patterns (reference architectures, identity/authorization, cryptography, AI guardrails) as living standards
  • Set and maintain security engineering principles for the platform
  • Lead architecture and design reviews for major platform and AI changes
  • Partner with platform engineering to reflect platform realities in architecture
  • Support security-by-design in enterprise and regulated environments
  • Codify decisions into policy-as-code and enforceable guardrails
  • Build, coach, and mentor the architecture team and maintain a high technical bar

Key requirements

  • Track record building or leading security architecture in SaaS or cloud-first environments
  • Deep credibility in identity and authorization, cryptography, secure-by-design, and threat modelling at scale
  • Hands-on depth to challenge weak designs while maintaining credibility
  • People-leadership experience (hiring, coaching, calibrating a senior team)
  • Experience aligning architecture to enterprise and regulated environments
  • Clear view on how AI changes the architecture surface (identity, authorization, supply-chain integrity, guardrails)
