Overview
In this role you will lead UK/EU ESG reporting and regulatory compliance for Hikma, ensuring high-quality disclosures aligned with UK SRS, IFRS S1/S2, CSRD/ESRS and EU Taxonomy. You will partner across Finance, Legal, Compliance and operational functions to strengthen ESG governance and data quality, while embedding sustainability considerations into decision-making. The role offers impact on transparency, stakeholder confidence and long-term value creation in a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment. This is a cross-functional, regulatory-facing position with a clear hook around shaping responsible sustainability governance at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead the annual ESG and sustainability reporting for Hikma with emphasis on UK/EU requirements
- Coordinate ESG data collection, validation and governance across sites, commercial operations and corporate functions
- Ensure disclosures comply with UK SRS, IFRS S1/S2, CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy and related frameworks
- Support integration of sustainability disclosures into the Annual Report and Accounts
- Manage external assurance activities with robust governance and audit readiness
- Develop and implement new ESG reporting system, processes and internal controls
- Monitor and interpret evolving UK/EU ESG legislation relevant to pharma
- Lead horizon scanning and assess regulatory impact on operations and supply chain
- Provide technical advice on SRS, IFRS, CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy, CSDDD, climate, human rights due diligence
- Collaborate with Legal, Compliance and Risk to embed regulatory obligations into policies and processes
- Maintain ESG governance framework and report to executives and boards
- Support internal/external audits and respond to ESG information requests
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to improve supplier ESG data and due diligence
- Advance ESG data management, digital reporting tools and continuous improvement culture
Key requirements
- Significant experience in ESG reporting, sustainability compliance or ESG regulatory affairs with UK/EU focus
- Experience in a regulated industry, ideally pharmaceuticals, biotech, healthcare, life sciences or medical devices
- Strong knowledge of UK SRS, IFRS S1/S2, CSRD, ESRS, EU Taxonomy, CSDDD
- Experience with ESG reporting systems and data management platforms
- Experience implementing regulatory change programs across multiple jurisdictions
- Strong governance, risk management and internal controls understanding
- Experience supporting external assurance and audits
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and project management
- Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Finance, Law, Business or related discipline
